Preventive Measures:

Avoid using oil-based products and indulging in a bubble bath. Also, avoid scrubbing procedures as the residues from these products get stuck in the internal system and start lining the pipes overtime. It becomes a potential breeding ground for harmful bacteria leading to illnesses. Flushing off the chemical build-up from time to time will ensure that the water coming through the jets is not contaminated.

Tips for Care:

  • A proven cleaning routine for the whirlpool tub includes:
  • Filling up the tub with warm water, enough to cover the jets.
  • Pouring in a good brand’s bleach based detergent, only enough that it does not make much lather.
  • Turn on the jets for about 10-15 minutes and let it run. Soon you will see things floating and that is what you want to see at the moment. Drain the water and again fill it up with warm water, pouring a milder dishwashing soap this time. Turn on the jets and let it run for another 10 minutes.
  • After draining the tub the second time, rinse it with cold water this time.
  • The tub will be better sanitized after cleaning in this way.
