Sink is finished on all four sides and is reversible. 1'' solid thick all around.
This sink is made of fireclay which is the highest quality clay sink available exceeding that of porcelain due to higher baking temperatures and longer baking times. It is made from 100% white clay unlike cast iron sinks which are made from iron and simply coated with a layer of clay. It can withstand the hottest pots & pans with out a problem unlike fiberglass sinks. Bottom line these sinks are extremely durable and will stay with you for many years to come.
This sink can be installed in 3 different ways, all of which feature an exposed front apron. The most common is Undermount, where the countertop flows over the edge of the sink. Another option is Flushmount where the countertop and top edge of sink are exactly the same height, in this case the silicone sealer between the sink and countertop will be visible. The third option is Topmount where the countertop buts up against the side of the sink which sticks up above the height of the countertop. Not to be confused with drop-in which this sink is not designed for.

The Benefits of an Authentic farmhouse sink. The Quality of the Finish - The glazing of the sink surface provides both durability and shine over long periods of time. The raw material used fine fireclay allows for uniformity in the finish.

Durability - The sinks glaze is practically impervious to threatening bacteria from food preparation. Stains do not penetrate the glaze and can be easily wiped away. Acids and chemical cleaners have virtually no adverse effect on sink. Coffee stains cigarette burns and other daily occurances that would adversely effect kitchen sinks made from other materials are easily wiped away on fireclay sinks.

Scratches - These sinks are not adversely affected by scratches from pots pans knifes etc.

Thermal Shock - Thermal Shock (very hot or very cold water) has no effect whatsoever on the sink.

I just received this sink that I ordered last week and am more than happy with the quality. I shopped around for a while and this was defiantly the best priced 30 inch fireclay farm sink anywhere, now that I see the quality I can say for sure that this is the best deal around. (Posted on 6/18/12)

Q: Is there a warranty with this sink?

A: For Whitehaus Fireclay Sinks: Whitehaus Collection® Fireclay Sinks are warranted for 1 year against manufacturing defects. Whitehaus Collection® Fireclay sinks also carry a 10 year warranty against fading and staining of the glaze. All cracks and chips due to misuse, damage, and improper installation; whether performed by a plumber, contractor, service provider, or unqualified person, will void the warranty.

Q: is there a way to see what color biscuit is? When I select the color option the sink color doesn't change from white. Thank you.

Q: What are the cut-out dimensions for this sink? I've been told that the cut-out on the front cabinet may be different than the actual sink width.

A: This means that for WH3018 sink, there are some options (colors) that are not available. Once you select the color, it will tell you availability. The White color is available. Feel free to place your order at your earliest convenience. Thank You

Q: What is the best way to clean this sink?

A: For normal cleaning, we recommend scrubbing the surface of your fireclay sink using hot water and a soft sponge or cloth with a mild abrasive. Then wipe the entire surface with a dry, clean, soft cloth. For heavy duty cleaning, and those tough marks, use any general purpose cleaner. The most recommended cleaning product is "Astonish". This can be found in most Super Market chains as well as on eBay! As a cheaper and easier product to find, AJAX works just fine even for those annoying pot marks. Do not use any metallic wire sponges, this may cause damage to the sinks finish.
